    Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum

    Travel on an original Maine Narrow Gauge Train along Casco Bay and view 19th century forts, lighthouses, and the geography of Casco Bay. The museum features nearly all of the existing Narrow Gauge Railroad equipment. Trains run May 11th to October 18th and December 19h through January 1st. Weekends year round except January 3 through February 13. There are no trains on Thanksgiving and Christmas day.

    Children's Museum of Maine

    The Children's Museum of Maine is a specially designed town for children of all ages. Exhibits and play areas are available for toddlers, while older children will enjoy the Space Shuttle exhibit, science labs, and TV studio. Open Wednesday to Sunday Labor Day through Memorial Day. Open seven days a week Memorial Day through Labor Day. Contact Children's Museum of Maine for hours of operation.

    Maine Historical Society

    Guests to the Maine Historical Society can tour the Wadsworth-Longfellow House (childhood home of America's famous poet) and the Longfellow garden, or browse through the research library which houses a copy of the Declaration of Independence. The Center for Maine History Museum contains changing exhibits spanning more than five centuries of Maine life.

    Showcasing the unique artistic history of Maine, the Portland Museum of Art preserves and documents a variety of art from its collection. The museum gives visitors a flavor of past and present original work, ensuring a cultural community center for Portland and its visitors. Open Tue, Wed, Sat, and Sun 10am to 5 pm Thur and Fri 10am to 9pm Memorial Day to Columbus Day: Open Mondays, 10am to 5pm
