Travel on an original Maine Narrow Gauge Train along Casco Bay and view 19th century forts, lighthouses, and the geography of Casco Bay. The museum features nearly all of the existing Narrow Gauge Railroad equipment. Trains run May 11th to October 18th and December 19h through January 1st. The Children's Museum of Maine is a specially designed town for children of all ages. Exhibits and play areas are available for toddlers, while older children will enjoy the Space Shuttle exhibit, science labs, and TV studio. Open Wednesday to Sunday Labor Day through Memorial Day. Guests to the Maine Historical Society can tour the Wadsworth-Longfellow House (childhood home of America's famous poet) and the Longfellow garden, or browse through the research library which houses a copy of the Declaration of Independence.
